If you’re in the mood for some genre-blending that is guaranteed to please a crowd, I’ve got the band for you. Chiiild is from Montreal and since releasing their debut single, “Count Me Out” this past August, they have already accumulated nearly 2 million streams on Spotify. If you are an avid user of the streaming platform, you may see them on some of Spotify’s hottest playlists including “Fresh & Chill,” “Pollen,” and “Front Left.”
Chiiild draws inspiration from D’Angelo and Tame Impala, creating a psychedelic R&B sound that is arguably unmatched by any artists today. Out of the 3 songs that they have already released, I suggest you listen to “Back To Life.” My favorite lyric is “If there’s a god I hope she’s black/And when I die she brings me back to life.” I don’t know man, it’s a refreshing sound and I fuck with it.
