The leaves have started falling, pumpkins are lining many-a-doorstep around campus, and spooky season is in full swing. Now I don’t know about you but leading up to this month I was in search of the perfect album to score my walks to class and I was ECSTATIC – and I mean ecstatic – when I found it. Two words. Twenty Twenty. Who’s the artist? Djo.

Now here’s the part where I read your mind and guess what you’re thinking. How the fuck do I pronounce that? We’ll get there in a minute, but first, let’s talk about the music.

Twenty Twenty is full of mesmerizing guitar riffs, wacky beat changes, and fuzzy vocals. A majority of the songs on the record are upbeat and worthy of singing in the car, but beneath them all is the spooky undertone that I mentioned before. I love it. Some records are hard to listen to in their entirety but the flow of each song on this album kept me hanging on to the last note.

I recommend checking out the songs “Roddy,” “Personal Lies,” and “Mortal Projections” – you’ll understand exactly what I’m talking about

Now let’s get back to the pronunciation. It’s actually quite simple – it’s pronounced as “joe.” Why? Because Djo is the stage name for Joe Keery, aka Steve from Stranger Things. BOOM. Now all of the spooky shit makes sense. It quite literally feels like Stranger Things and Omar Apollo had a lovechild and if that doesn’t sound like something you’d be interested in, you are seriously missing out.

What do you guys think? Spooky? Vibey? Leave a comment below!
